The idea for building an IoT enabled solution for Enterprises came by observing the design of Physical Access Control Systems (PACS) that were traditionally deployed in companies. Most systems utilised very old technologies with a central system wired to a controller which in turn wired to readers and locks. They were seemingly expensive for what they offered and were difficult to expand as it required civil works. Judging by the cost of civil works, cabling and the systems themselves, we decided to design and build an Enterprise IoT solution where PACS was just a module of a larger solution that catered to multiple requirements of a workspace in a single cost effective and highly scalable, modular package.
